Dedicated to Making Christlike Disciples

Our leaders serve with faith, integrity, and a deep love for our church family. Learn more about the pastor and ministry leaders who help guide LINAZ Church and support our mission in the Lansing community.

Rev. Jean Berniste Ambeau, Pastor

Pastor Ambeau began his ministry journey in 1990 when he preached for the first time and sensed God’s clear call to serve. He started as a Sunday School teacher at the Church of the Nazarene in Mare-Rouge, Haiti, where his passion for teaching and shepherding others continued to grow.

He pursued biblical and theological training through Source of Light and remained committed to deepening his understanding of God’s Word. In time, a long-held dream became reality when he answered the Lord’s call to study theology at Nazarene Theological Seminary in Haiti, where he completed four years of theological education.

Today, he serves at Lansing International Church of the Nazarene. His ministry is centered on sharing the Good News, helping others grow in their faith, caring for people, living a life of prayer, and continually seeking God’s presence.

He has been married to Marie Edna Dessin since December 2003, and together they are blessed with five children. He remains deeply grateful for God’s constant love and faithfulness throughout his spiritual journey and firmly believes that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).

She is married and blessed with four beautiful children of her own, along with three stepchildren ranging in age from 4 to 22 years old. Family is at the center of her life and faith.

Having lived in Lansing most of his life, Gilbert has been actively involved in the church community since 2020. From an early age, he sensed Christ’s calling on his life and has committed himself to serving God by sharing His love and encouraging others to recognize the value of living for Him.

Outside of ministry, Brother Gilbert enjoys physical fitness, reading, playing soccer, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends — especially with his daughter, Amilla.

Through her leadership, she seeks to inspire others to serve God and their community with faithfulness and purpose.

Through “Linaz Youth,” Gilbert’s vision is to create a welcoming and supportive environment where every young person feels understood, heard, valued, and inspired to surrender their lives to Christ. She firmly believes that youth are not only the future of the church but an essential and active part of the church today. One of her guiding Scriptures is 1 Timothy 4:12, which encourages young believers to be examples in word, conduct, love, faith, and purity.
